2018 Design Trends
At this year’s High Point, North Carolina’s design industry market I was excited to see some of my favorite colors reigning ‘trendy’ - peacock blue, pink, green and white! Fresh interiors with classic lines and vintage accents. You can get caught up in buying the latest and trendiest finishes, furniture and accessories and think “why not redo the entire house?”. Let’s stop there - let’s not go there. Timeless design is king and layering the trends into your style, as you do in fashion, is what it’s about. I love to design each space toward your story, style and personality; otherwise it feels like a staged home. Design trends inspire living and here are my sweetest finds:
Suzanne Kasler’s new Paris Apartment Collection for Hickory Chair was a favorite of many designers.
The Bungalow Classic line at Highland House was another show stopper. The fun fabric use on this chandelier caught my attention.
The new Julie Neill collection for Visual Comfort was my favorite lighting because it is thoughtful and elegant with organic forms.
I also admired the latest collection from Ornis Gallery. I can see these prints stand alone or in a grouping to create instant impact.
